The challenge in this garden was to bring light and all year round interest into three distinct areas to the front, side and rear of the house. As an enthusiastic gardener who also enjoys relaxing and entertaining in the garden, our client allowed us to combine strong creative design with a bold planting scheme and practical features that are easy to maintain.

A gentle waterfall bubbling down over slate rockery stones surrounded by colourful planting creates initial impact in the front garden.

The bright and airy Mediterranean feel is achieved with a white curved wall and timber decking, transforming a cold, dark corner into a welcoming sun-trap.

A trickling channel of water leads you from the middle of the garden through a Japanese-inspired garden of Acers and grasses planted amongst pebbles and boulders, to a tranquil pond surrounded by trees and ferns.
